Apologies of this has been answered somewhere else.

I know that DK1.1 is multi functional in terms of C/S/T. But if i flash dk1.1 in Sat mode will it know i want it to use the Satellite.xml and satellite scanning options?

Yes, if it's flashed on a sat box, all satellite settings and menus are loaded, you won't see any references to cable.
