    safe distance for dish

hi, i have the openmedia cs and have got the cable side running no probs. Now i'm only experimenting at the moment but i flashed sat side with pli jade image and that went ok i put in the sky dish cable thats already on house just to see what it picked up, i pretty much knew as its been told on here a thousand times but after a scan i got about 10 channels open on sky, anyway for what it matters that dish is at 19.2 my thing is now i,m going to get a new dish and what i need to know how far away from the other dish should my new dish go? there is room on chimney but there is already 2 dishes on there 1 mine, 1 neighbours for sky. would another dish cause interferance to mine or neighbours already there dish?

mmm not sure what he on, i scanned my cs and it picked up automatical 19.2 so assume his was the same and just checked and they both pointing the same way. is that not what sky use or do the use 28 e as well.

no sky dont use 19.2e they use 28.2e and 28.5e (astra 2) satellites 19.2e is astra 1 satelllite and very close to astra 2 satellites

you can get multi lnb brackets so you can have more than one satellite on the one dish ie you can have 28.2e, 19.2e, 16e and 13e all on dish controlled by diseqc switches.

heres what the lnb bracket looks like MULTI LNB BRACKET HOLDER FOR 4 LNBS ORBITAL DISHES on eBay (end time 11-Jul-09 21:19:08 BST)

here is some some diseqc switches

when i scanned the box it auto selected 19.2 then asked if i wanted to scan any other satalites i clicked no because i though my lnb would only be pointing at the 1 satalite is this not strictly true? if i was to select yes and enter some other satalites i may get more channels to open from other sats. i'm not bothered about sky channels as i have them all on cable side. was just thinking as you say some sats are very close to others it may get something else as well

thanks guys i thought it was at 19.2 aswell as this was what it kept going to. right have now done as per your instructions and what do you know bingo more channels opening up for me so am well pleased, am still learning all the time though so you guys expect more probs to answer when i get a new dish and then can experiment some more.
