were is my emu

hi can anybody tell me in simple terms how to get to see if my emu is on

i have the the box super usb

i know how to do the menu bit then get nagravision up and even put the codes in manually but i have one box that is showing the channels but the other one is not

i have read i might need to check my emu and do some power thing

any help would be nice thank you
