What Box do I have??? How do I know?

Hia, im helping a friend out who has no internet access and so my question is this....
His channels all disappeared 2 days ago in the swansea area, (everyone i know with a box lost their channels) Have done all the usual ideas of re-scanning, factory reset etc. So im guessing (with my limited knowledge)that it needs some sort of update - eg. software.
The next problem is i have no idea what box number it is? I personally have the box super usb and its definately not that one. Do the boxes have numbers on them? On the box it just says THE BOX SUPER - the serial number is 8D005026

Any help would be appreciated... Thanku

if it says the box super on front=sv3,with nagra3 everywhere now check the list first

flashing and scanning will not work on nagra3=100% blank screen might only have a few freeview channels working.

Ummm may sound a bit stupid but i see nowhere on the box where i could put a card in? Plus who sends out cards???/

if u hav a sub with vm they will send u a card to go with there own box if not ur screen will go blank soon..

Feeel free to laugh.......

.....The virgin box isn't affected so why would virgin send another card?
Is it not possible to just plug the box into the computer and add some new updates etc???? That sounds so much easier?
Altho i have no idea what lead i would use to connect the box to computer!

the whole idea of new encryption stops non providers boxes from working,nagra3 card is only for their box to work,other boxes will be doorstops.
