I'm wondering if anyone can change the number of start-stop cycles in a Bosch EDC17C60 ECU on a Peugeot 208 1.6 BlueHDi. I need to enter the same value consistent with the BSI value, which I can obviously specify.

Hi everyone,

I'm fairly new to tuning, but I'm trying to learn the proper logic instead of just tossing percentages or taking shortcuts. I've just finished my first Stage 1 file for a Passat 1.9 TDI AVF (ECU: EDC15P+) and would highly appreciate it if someone more experienced could take a look and review my work before I flash it to the car.

My goal was a safe, linear Stage 1 tune (aiming for around 160hp and 380Nm) with absolutely zero smoke.

Here is what I modified in Codeblock 2 (Manual):

1 Driver Wish: Opened up to fully support the requested fueling.

2 Torque Limiter: Boosted the peak to 60 mg/stroke at 2001 RPM, tapering off smoothly towards the higher RPM range to protect the clutch and dual-mass flywheel.

3 Smoke Limiter (MAF): Modified the last column (1050 mg/stroke) to allow the necessary fuel. I aimed for a peak AFR of around 17.5:1 to ensure a completely smoke-free burn.

4 Boost Target & Boost Limit Map: Increased boost by about 150 mbar at peak (max target boost is 2500 mbar). The boost limiters have been adjusted accordingly, keeping the stock atmospheric pressure offsets intact for high-altitude protection. SVBL was already at 2620 mbar stock, so I left it untouched.

5 N75 Duty Cycle: Reduced the duty cycle by 2-3% in the higher IQ columns (45 to 58 mg) between 1900 and 4000 RPM to prevent overboost issues from the increased exhaust flow.

6 SOI (Start of Injection) @ 90°C: Advanced the injection timing by 1° in the mid-range and 1.5° at higher RPMs in the high IQ zones to keep EGTs safe and low.

I noticed the base file I used already had an EGR delete (144 changes in the EGR map), so I kept it as-is. Checksums are corrected and okay.

I've attached both the original and my modified .bin files below. Any constructive criticism, advice, or suggestions are highly welcome!
