Mobile phone contracts.. 3 UK iPhone 4

    Hi..

I'm on my second iPhone 4 from 3 after my first lasted 2 days..

Now after 8 months my second iPhone 4 is knackered.. Every time i use the WiFi for more than 10 minutes i have to turn the phone off and remove the Sim for the phone to pick up a 3g signal.. Also there is a constant red dot on the 'phone' and 'voice-mail' icon..

I'm not that interested in getting a replacement phone from the Apple store now as it's beyond a joke that I should be on my third phone in under a year..

Do i have any grounds for terminating my contract or at least being able to change to a different phone than the iPhone..???

I must add I'm on the latest Apple software and the phone is standard (ie not jailbroke)

i should imagine you do have grounds.. i have done a flow chart showing you the process..
but seriously... they have twice now supplied you with phones that are not fit for purpose. i believe you would be entitled to cancel contract with no monies owing and get a refund of any monies paid...
    Fave replies from various threads

1: What the fff is all that about??? All that crap below your reply I mean, get a life mate
2: no info on google abt the pace sv5 rang asda they have no idea what i was talking about,
3: Your total contribution to this forum, bordering on trolling, seems to have been a collection of snipes, one liners & asterisked expletives

As konatist has said, after 3-4 replacement phones you can get what's called a DMR (Different Model Replacement). But you don't choose the replacement from all available phones, they give you a list of about 3 phones they could send out.

With Orange the service is available (but not actively promoted) if the replacement phones have all had the same fault. But the replacements are all reconditioned handsets, not new, so there's an argument towards faulty handsets being sent out.

Hutchinson Wampoa who own 3 also setup Orange (Hutchinson Telecommunications becoming Hutchinson Wampoa around 1999) so they should have very similar processes in place.

But you will usually find the handsets offered are lower in value to your over priced piece of jun.....oops, I mean Iphone.

just an update to this, after loads of calls to India and no help it took an email to their Glasgow executive office, where a very fit and hot sounding woman decided that after my problems they would indeed exchange the phone for the model I requested..

Samsung Galaxy S2 due on Thursday.. well happy and extremely happy with 3s customer service (in the UK )

              Lucky b'stard.

I just want to upgrade my phone to the S2 & Orange want ?100 off me for the handset.

Tried a couple of times now, but unless I go to retentions I'll not get it free.

So I'll be leaving Orange at the end of my contract & switching to Voda. I'll get the S2 for free on the same contract I'm on with Orange. No brainer.

Unless I wait to see if the S2 is going to be released with Windows Mango, as the rumor hints at.
