they can censor all they want, ppl will find a way around it if they want to. it just makes them look bad. maybe the more rights that are taken from the masses, the sooner they will realise that they are anything but free.Comment

Their legislation is affecting people worldwide.
That should be challenged.
More disturbing is the recent legislation, pushed through in the dormant Christmas period, Christmas Eve to be exact, whereby the US authorities can 'lift' someone off the street and incarcerate them indefinitely under a suspicion. And the sheeple are still taking off their shoes at customs.Comment

Blackouts - Yes it achieved awareness, and thats all it was meant to achieve, the US b****** Govt are not content enough with invading all these countries and putting their own puppet Governments but they want to invade Cyberspace and control that too, nothing to do with Piracy blah blah, just a control tool. But boy are they in for a fight, another Cyber Afghanistan and in the end the victory will be ours, people will just move more underground SSL, servers located outside the U.S, wont go down too well with the hacker community who will no doubt launch their own attacks against the Corporations that push these bills through. SOPA has been stopped dead in its tracks by the Senate but they are now trying to push PIPA through.
PIPA is basically SOPA with subtle differences. Same broom...different head!!
PIPA, if passed, will give U.S. corporations and the government the right to seek affirmative legal action with any website that they see as enabling copyright infringement whether of U.S. origin or not. Here is a breakdown of all that they will have the power to do.
- Force U.S. internet providers to block access to websites deemed as enablers of copyright infringement
- Seek legal action by suing search engines, blog sites, directories, or any site in general to have the black listed sites removed from their website
- Will be able to force advertising services on infringing websites, and those supporting of them, to remove them from their advertising accounts
- Companies will also have the power to sue any new websites that get started after this bill is passed, if they believe that they are not doing a good job of preventing infringement on your website
