hi mate, ebay is getting silly with its pricing but just add a few quid to postage to cover the fees and use buy it now, that way you get what you want. stick it on for 30 days, put your own pics on, library pics are just an accident waiting to happen, just takes two hours for your spondoolies to go into your bank account you could try your local free cycle if you got one around where you live

Yer ebay is getting silly i agree. I have also had 1 or 2 members on ebay offer me a better deal if i go through paypal only and all i was doing was asking a question about the item.

Gumtree is great as the op says as you will get local people who will pick up usually and you dont need to worry about packaging and making a trip to the post office either so you and the buyer save costs there too and obviously save ebay/paypal charges.

It really depends what your selling tho as ebay is a great place to advertise but the costs are mad as said.

Another option is certain forums have a for sale/wanted section but again it depends what your selling whether it is going to sell on whatever forum it attracts members to.

think it depends what your actually selling, bigger things for collection a would use gumtree,
smaller things i usually use ebay - car boot sales ain't worth the hassle anymore n my opinion

a don't think its fair that Ebay own Paypal, so u are actually being charged twice for 1 service

amazon is the daddy to make money loads of traffic and you get the price you want but its limited to what you can list if you dont go pro to list your own items instead of generic

ebay is good for traffic but to many fees and timewasters plus everyone undercuts each other

ebid is a great site it charges sellers no commision on sales but the traffic is crap

gum tree i have used twice both items never sold

              gumtree is part of egay

Gumtree was founded in 2000 as a community site in London to help Australians, New Zealanders and South Africans find a place to stay, a job, and everything one needs to settle in, including furniture and new friends. The expats liked the idea so much, they started Gumtree sites in their own countries. Meanwhile, the London site became the city***8217;s most popular online classifieds.

In 2005, Gumtree became part of eBay. Today, we***8217;re the leading classifieds site in the U.K. and Ireland, as well as in Australia and South Africa. We***8217;re also in Hong Kong and Singapore, and major cities in New Zealand and Poland.

The Gumtree spirit remains cheerfully local and filled with passion ***8212; for some, the passion is driven by the uniqueness of the platform, for most it is the power of the platform to fulfill the core need of finding immediate value across a range of categories ***8211; goods, jobs, cars and more. Our user base is diversifying, geographically beyond the main cities, and broadening beyond its antipodean roots. In the UK alone, we have 10m+ unique visitors to our site every month.

Adevinta is a leading online classifieds group in Europe. Our portfolio spans consumer goods, mobility, real estate, holiday rentals and jobs.

I've never sold on any sites. But I still love ebay, mostly buying from the UK and Hk as the P&P is better from most sellers than here in Ireland. Also the pound symbol looks better than the euro ? ? . As for paypal there conversion rates stink. I use an o2 money card as visa. I let o2 have the conversion charge, so I'm just using paypal. And I do feel sorry for some sellers as they dont get a good price for there items, in the bidding game.

It was ok to begin with but as always greed has taken over.

                        Yeah second that 100000000000000000000000000000000%.

Never sold ANYTHING on Ebay before took advantage of their 'free weekend' last week end.

Had two 'items' i had purcahsed of Ebay recently as fawlty ones, figured out what was wrong with them. Reapired, cleaned tested, ****ed around with.

one had 7 watchers no bid, the other 20 watchers 2 bids (same person).

umpteen messages, need it now, how much (starting price) how much to deliver to FISHCITY! - WTF.

I made it clear deliverd in M/C only - then the winning bidder of the one that sold, comes from a long long long long way away - he can meet in a parking lot at the end of the road. Or f00ok off.

I use to sell items on ebay, not no more, have to put 20 pictures of the item and if its keys that only program once(%^#$^^^). A third of the people want to renigotiate after the fact or tell ebay its not what they wanted you give money back tell to return never get back. If your trying to make a side hustle of it the people all ready selling keys will buy loads wait 58 days then send back(even short and programmed into something to make it useless). Know what fobs are reuseable you can snipe and get new blades from appollo and build up your expensive ones.

Try FreeAds, Gumtree, Preloved and FridayAd, they are all free and you can also post photos of the items.
Use them all at the same time for maximum coverage.

                              GGGRRRRRRRR.

SO my first EVER ebay item i managed to sell, somebody from Tim-Buck-Two brought.

I made it clear as day M/C residents only, so i now have a 'item not as described' message on my ebay.

So what part of my advert did it say "Fully working, but not quite right"
