Accident help

On Friday evening i was ran off road by another car they were in the wrong lane at roundabout to go left and cut over they were going into the side of me i had to turn left and slam the breaks on then i skidded up kerb at which point the car made a bit of bang which seemed to be from engine.

I kept car going back on the road as i wanted to catch the vehicle to get its reg but my engine was knocking bad and the car was flat it would go but only about 30mph flat out

But there was a que at the next junction and i got close enough to get his registration i flashed and beeped horn and i was just getting out of car to pull him up when one of my passeneger shouted to turn engine of quick the car had thick smoke coming from under bonnet and when i looked behind you couldnt see the road for smoke

i had my daughter in the car also and her 33 week old baby so she started panicking to get baby out thinking car was going to blow up, when i took keys out the car was still running and it was gettting faster i had to stall the car to stop it running

by that time the other driver had gone but we did get his reg, police drove past a minute later i flagged him and he escorted me to a safe area for recovery. The smoke coming out of car was unreal even the officer said he had never seen anything like it.

anyway parked up he told me to ring in the police as he was on appointments and could not take statement so i rang and they arrived the next day i also phoned my insurance who put me onto a solicitor and drive assist who sort out replacement cars ect for not at fault accidents

now when the solicitor phoned on saturday morning drive asist phoned at the same time when i rang them back 3 times they were too busy to call me back all day yesterday so i decided to ring other people last night and nobody can do anything till monday earliest and i might not even get one then as they have to go to police and find the drivers insurance ect

Now im getting desprate for a replacement vehicle i dont really want to go through my insurers as its not my fault what are my options of getting a car as quickly as possible?

not that you want to go this way ,hire a car,or maybe meaty has car and driver who speaks a funny lingo also,glad your ok,not sound to good wonder if engine kacked it with the smoke screen display .

yes they dont seem to do weekends i have tried a few

i may have a problem though although he was at fault and i have 3 witnesess these accident management people work when they know they are going to get paid

this guy has to be found first and will probably not admit any liability which means a lot of these accident people may not want to bother

i dont think he acually hit me but possibly may have just touched front bumper as its hanging off on one side but that may have happened as i smashed up kerb

need car pronto really busy week next week i could hire a car but cant really afford it, i wouldnt care if i was guaranteed getting it back but i am not so sure

what happens if he says i did nowt? and he says he had 3 people in his car same as me that seen nothing and has no marks on his vehicle?

did you take pics of your car when smoke was pouring out on your mobile phone.

police should do him for reckless driving.

ask police/traffic people if any cameras in the area

when i had my accident last year i took several pics of the other car so they couldnt claim for something that was damaged before hand etc

no lainie it didnt enter my head to take pics but i had a random officer escort me to a safe place under plumes of smoke he soon scarpered though and left me to it he was on appointments and told me to phone in

the other car just did one i did catch him at next junction as there was a que thats how i got his reg but thats when we noticed all the smoke so that became priority

worst part was we had a 3 weeks year old baby in rear on my side which is where he was heading until we swerved out the way

so for now car less and cant seem to get much help finding one over the weekend either, really need one by tomorrow at latest

Just to 'assist' you.

Here in M/C guy was in a parking lot, nudged another car. NO damage to EITHER car so he buggered off.

He got knock on the door by the fuzz and he got EVERYTHING thorwn at him.



~Another story somebody reveresed into some thing 'didn't feel a thing' he got slaughtered as well.

Deffo go to the round about take photos of the junction and the road marking.

Just incase theres another accident that destroys the road amrkings or water main bursts.

just to update got a courtesy car whilst the asses what is to be done on mine

drive assist who were dealing with the claim, have pulled away until they can establish that the other party are in the wrong or admit liability which now means its all on my own insurance claim which i did not want unless the other party is found to be at fault or admit liability

then my insurance would be able to claim it as their fault and not mine and recoup the money from the other insurers

Leaves me snookered i have a courtesy car that fits a handbag inside my car was an estate which i was going to use this week for removals

If my vehicle is written off i have to hand the courtesy car straight back and wait for a cheque so no car while we argue about settlement

i can hire my own vehicles ect and bill the other insurers but then this is all at my own risk of being able to find the other party fully liable

headache all round

As far as aware, if you can dump it in your friends parking lot, you (he/she) can claim i THINK ?5/day storage.

What ever your car is/was, find one in the local paper, - trader - (not sure about private sale) - keep the advert, when they say your car is worth ?100 - you show the advert for the same make/model as yours for say ?2500 they are obliged to pay you ?2500.

Not sure how this works, but as there ALL bent as hell, see if trader with a regular advert in paper, can be bribed to add to list same make/model as your but for a 'silly' expensive price - nobody will buy it, & he says it sold before the advert went to press, can i sell you a ???
