i AM GOING TO TURKEY SOON AND I AM CONFUSED ABOUT THE DUTY FREE ALLOWANCE ON BRINGING BACK CIGARETTES,CAN SOMEONE GIVE ADVICE?,ALSO IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE CIGARETTES FROM UK AIRPORT TO TURKEY AND BRING THEM BACK TO UK UNOPENED?

Not many, think its about 2 cartons (400), best off taking a gamble and packing the case full!, all they can do is confiscate them at worst.Faster than Faster

you can buy them and take them to turkey as your destination is outside the EU (at the momemt), bring them back is they same as buying them abroad i.e. duty free etc.
As yamar says why not just fill a bag anyway... I always used to bring back about 8000, would be a bag full but nobody every checked or asked... If your Uk airport has a blue channel just go for that one anyway (supposed to be just for EU arrivals but they never check etc).. . If you look a customs guy in the eys he will pull you over straight away..

turkey isnt in the eu but id risk it anyway. its normally tenerife i go to and while i dont bring back 1000s of cigs for pals i do bring back more than the 200 allowed.sigpic

before the Czech Republic became part of the EU me and some buddies 'repacked' the work conatiners for the trip back to the uk and managed to get 15000 back in one go..
