    GO710 Repair Advice

Hi I have a TOMTOM GO710 and has a charging fault. The charger and dock seem fine so I decided to replace the battery. Unfortunately, this has not cured the fault. Upon further checking I noticed that the green light comes on when the unit is on the dock but dosn't charge the unit, but if I hold the unit down with some pressure the the unit charges.

Has anyone had the same fault and found a cure?

Any help on the matter is greaty apprecited

It's caused by either a dry joint or damage to the charge port board pins.

If you are good with a soldering iron you could try reflowing the solder joints for the charge port. Or take it to a good PC repair shop.
