Nice to see your still walking gmb...Infact you'll not believe Mrs Pumpy and me have just got back from doing the Bleaklow walk.
The first half went ok, got to the plane wreckage and nearby trig point, then over to the Hern Stones and the cairn at Bleaklow Head. Then headed down towards Torside Res with the intention of circling round to the Cock hill trig point and back up the Doctors Gate path to the car, but got totally lost and never made Cock Hill.
Mrs Pumpy fell over and rolled halfway down a little clough, she's now blaming me and not talking......not a bad thing really.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.

I can't see the being a great deal of stuff up there, although there is some old roman roads running through some of those walks.
A mate of mine (who sadly died earlier this year) was a big metal detector fan and history buff, he had a pretty big collection of stuff and used to travel all over the place.

from high part of A57 snake pass, on to the pennine way up ashop head then to kinder down fall 9.5 miles

the start of the pt walk, 3 miles of this, and 3 back

the climb up to ashop head, a lot worse than it looks this.

                  view back from ashop head

                  walking towards kinder downfall

view from kinder downfall, kinder reservoir top right

                  kinder downfall

kinder trepass walk, most this walk was dun in a protest in 1932 about the right to roam any where, most of the moors where off limits to walkers till this protest then a few years later a law was passed allowing any one to walk more or less any where, even to this day you cant get prosecuted for "trespass".
                                on the way up

the way down "dog rough dufs clough" (aka william clough)
