Whats the point?

Why do people feel that because they are different they have to be the same?

Personally i dont really care if gays get married or not, but i think there is more important things to be discussed and sorted out.


Marriage is a bond between a man and a woman, if your gay then surely you accept you cant be married, why would you need to be married?


Equality wants everyone to be the same, but we are not and neither should we be. Being gay is different why shoild it be the same as straight couples?

the fat ens niece is gay an in a civil marriage, personally i dont see her as any different as before she came oot a closet tbh, i think its a good idea as it prob gives them more legal protection if they break up, hooses, posessions, joint bank accounts etc, im no way relgious but it defo should not be held in a church imo.

If two people want to commit to each other then let them.....and for legal protection let them be married in the eyes of the powers that be......BUT the sacrament of marriage in the eyes of the church is sacred and that bond till death should only be between a man and a woman.....I'm not anti gay or pro church but I do not accept the interference by the government in the affairs of our faith.......we are slowly losing everything from our moral values to religion.....the eurocrats want us to be sheep.

Dont civil partnerships offer same protection as marriages though ? for all intent and purpose a civil partnership is a marriage with a diffrent name

btw i have nothing against gay people but they are different in a way that goes against nature, we are born to breed. As human beings they are same they have rights and it is up to every individual what they do or which path they choose

I just cant see why the need for marriage, same sex partners is different to what marriage is about why does it need to be the same

That may be your opinion but as gays have rights then so should the guardians of our faith....why should they be forced to do something against their belief and way of life just to be politicaly correct..........gays have obtained the right to marry in a civil ceremony...leave it at that...anything else is a dig at the church .

End of the day, evolution dictates that man lies with woman, and our laws were and are to some extent, still based on that basic fact. Gays, like it or not, are going against evolution so why should we change the laws to suit one group of people? They want to be different, let them be different...

This thread is degrading into a slanderous affair.....no one here said gays cant marry, they said it is not right in their opinion that gay marriages should take place in the sanctity of a church........religion is not about priests, its about people and their beliefs and right now the majority of church going Christians believe gay marriage forced upon their faith by an atheist government is morally wrong......if two people love each other and want to commit to each other the by all means get married to show that commitment....but not in a church in a ceremony undertaken but a priest who believes it is against all his beliefs and morals.

But doesn't evolution have it's basis in 'survival of the fittest'?

If the latest research that points to a genetic predisposition to same sex tendencies is correct, isn't this just darwins theory realised?

Faulty genes, gay sex, no kids...end of faulty gene line.


Does it matter what you call it, gay marriage or civil partnership. It's just two people having their devotion to each other recognised in law. It won't be long before churches are set up that only perform gay marriages... if there's money in it, someone will take advantage.
