    R.I.P Mel Smith

    comedian Mel Smith half of the smith and jones duo has died today of heart attack at the age of 60. shame funny funny guy

      Definitely he was a great entertainer, my condolences to the family!!

                  Just heard on this thread, commiserations to his family a great entertainer and regular on TV as a kid

                  I remember he had a lot of problems addicted to painkillers and stuff, am pretty sure they wont have helped his heart

                          A great comedian but not exactly the healthiest looking guy even when he was young. Sadly missed.

                              He was a great comic and obviously a business talent and good at spotting new talent and helping them along. His media company (with the other fella) was sold for ?60m and produced the likes of Ali G, Alan Partridge and a few others....

                                              The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.
