Iphone 3Gs or HTC Touch Pro 2 ?

I've been wanting a new phone gadget to spend my hard earned dosh on for a while, I've been watching the new phone releases closely and am at a bit of a loss.
I'm torn between the new IPhone and the HTC touch pro 2 (both have come out very recently)

I've used win-mo devices before but never used an iphone/pod

Pros for the touch pro 2 are its 800x420 vga screen, slide out keyboard and free software

Pros for the Iphone are its user interface and free software (hopefully)

Price wise they come out about the same-ish

Anyone shed any light either way to help me decide where to spend my dosh ?

I have the iPhone 3g, best gadget I have ever owned, would be totally lost without it. Having the internet wherever you go at your fingertips when and where you need it is fantastic. I won't be changing for a while anyway. One thing I will recommend though is getting a shield for the back as they are easily scraped and one of them film shield things for the front to protect the screen.

both phones have 3G / wifi , and are pretty close in technical specs, what i really want is a comparison between a top-end windows mobile phone and a Iphone 3G / s

        I want it for ;
Making calls , sending texts / emails, sat-nav, browsing web, and music .. in that order

        Anyone ?

i know what you mean.. the new iphone (3GS) is what the iphone should have been in the first place.. it's been behind par before now, sorta unfinished, thats why I put off buying one. I was set to buy a new 3GS, untill i done some homework on the mobile world and found a couple of contenders (HTC touch pro 2 being the main contender) wish i could have a mobile test-drive... hence post.

Ive given up trying to have a good phone.
At the mo mines held together with cellotape.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.

I might be wrong but i'm sure most people only use their phone to...talk, text, take the odd piccy.
All the gizmo's on a phone are either never used or very rarely.
Give me a phone that does those 3 things and is bomb proof, thats the one i'll buy.

Until then i'll keep cellotaping up the one ive got.

Oi , don't hijack the thread.. If i'm gonna carry around a gadget all day i want it do most of the stuff i need... forefront is a phone but , i work on the road so i need sat-nav .. i go gym, so i want a mp3 player, the odd snap, and maybe the odd game or vid whilst i'm stuck in traffic... i don't wanna carry around a sellotaped-up phone, a sat-nav, psp, and a laptop all day.

Mr pumpy, you are wrong... hence post.

Must say that HTC touch pro 2 looks a pretty good package.

But Im a Mac man and the iphone just is so user friendly, the only poor thing is the camera imho, which isnt important to me.

@ the Touch screen moaners..what the f*** the iphone one is as good if not better than typing on a normal sized keypad as it learns what angle you normally press a letter from..unlike them miniature keypads that your fingers( well my fat stumpy ones at least)press four at once
