Well that was me up till half 4 this morning rolling about in agony. Not even sure how I managed to get to sleep but was back up at half 6 for work and still in agony. the more movement or pressure on it the worst it gets. Workout daily and keep myself fit these days as well.

Is this a sign that I am getting old too?

A good massage all round with a lovely women tends to solve the pain for some time but the process of getting old is the winner in the end….

Are you using the rub in cream version? Takes weeks even so.

Hey mate was still bad yesterday causing another sleepless night and same again last night. Got on to site today and went to see the nurses in at the medical centre we have on site. They gathered that it sounded like a slipped disk and took me to hospital where they recommended that the hospital xray me and get me on stronger painkillers as paracetamol and ibuprofen have done nothing.

Got to the hospital the recommendation of an xray was ignored and the doctor after examining me told me that my back was bruised (news to me ). She then gave me codeine and left me to wait in case I had a reaction to codeine.. so while she was away doing whatever I checked my back myself knowing that it was not bruised and if it was then it had came within going from site to the hospital.... checked there was no bruising. When she came back I pointed out that there was no bruising and to check it out again... upon checking it she says 'ooh you are right it must have been a shadow, probably from your shirt' surely a doctor should know the difference from a shadow and bruising

So got no explanation as to what may be causing the pain just a higher dosage of codeine and told to take them and if it persists to see my gp... Even though she was made aware that I work away from home and I am unable to visit my gp.

Even with all the aches and pains we should remember it's a privilege to reach middle to old age , just hate it when one wakes up with a new unexplained pain like me ****ing left big toe , can't remember banging it but it's swollen to twice the size and making walking just about impossible, cheer up old timers its all part of growing up ,regards

So how the hell do they expect to find out whats wrong without an x ray? Those nurses sounded really caring.....

Pains still there mate just the painkillers are numbing it a fair bit. Just hate the dopey feeling that the codeine leaves you with. Especially in the morning your trying to wake up and there almost putting me back to sleep
