1, DIY kit would be good. Now there are lots of cctv kids you can find on line or local store. They are easy to set up with the manual or the online tutorial.
2, Personally I suggest wired cameras because wired offer better video quality than wireless cameras. The advantage of wireless camera is much more pleasant to look at.
It also depends what is your budget. Wireless are more expensive .
