    can anybody tell how to get rid of moss of a tarmac drive.the guy next door got his done about ayear ago by pikeys looked great but after 2 months patches of moss started to appear he done all the right things getting weed killers they done ok for awhile just turned the moss from green to brown i think hes paid more for weedkiller then he paid for his drive in to be tarmaced.its started to spread all over his drive hasent infected my lawn but wit the weather we have rain every second day will the slime creep over

    I would have thought that just jet washing it off would be the best and cheapest solution.
    In our country though its gonna probably keep coming back, maybe a case of keeping on top of it by jet washing every year.
    I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.

      ya said that to him but he is unwilling to do that he has a few pot plants under his window the pot plants have sunk he thinks if he uses a power washer it will break the tarmac alltogrther the tarmac is a little over 4inchs deep

        If gypo's have done the tarmacing its probably painted on.
        I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.

            MMMmm well... the ones i know are alright, the older generation, the younger ones i'm not too keen on.

              Ferrous Sulphate which can be obtained form hardware shops in powder form and is watered on.

              Once it goes black scrape it off with a hoe or stiff brush.

              Moss has two growing cycles spring/autumn when the spores spread so best time to do it is April/September.

              Places like B&Q sell it as Lawn Sand but it gets messy and ends up tramped all over the house.

              Hope this is of some use.

                  u could try thick household bleach m8y i use it on the weeds & things that grow on my driveway & it does the job for a while.
