    Continuous card payments

Hi guys just after some general advice about trying to stop a continuous card payment from my bank

I don't really want to go into the reason why I want to and I'm aware of the procedure of requesting the bank to stop them and the company involved but I'm just wondering if I cancel my card and order a new one will this stop any future payments being taken ?

    Any constructive answers welcomed thanks

Yes cancel the card, think before you tweet what happened, if you say lost or stolen might ask you for a crime number.

be realistic tell them you were trying to download from dk downloads a file to press the thanks button more often and dropped your wallet and card onto a Trojan file.

Liability stays with even a closed account so that won't work, you need the payee to stop a continuous credit payment, never ever use them only a direct debit because you then have control! Too late for I'm sorry to say.

You can ask the bank to cancel it, and they have to.

If you tell your bank to stop the payment being taken, it has to do so. However, you should make sure that you inform the company taking the payment particularly where you have a contract or credit agreement in place. If this is the case, you may still need to make any remaining payments.
A CPA is a type of recurring payment, similar to a direct debit, whereby you give permission for a company to take money from your account using your card details.

Easy, the last person I new was in a similar position and reported to bank that the card drop in the loo at the time of flushing and was to let to get hold of it, this way you do not need crime number or any evidence??

If you say it is lost I doubt they would request a police crime number. I'd put money on it.

I am forever loosing my bank cards and each time tell them that it is lost. Never have they even suggested a crime number.

Really they should start billing me for the amount of new cards I order.
