Has anyone else come across this one...
I closed my bank account a few years ago now so have been using her indoors account for everything. I tried to put a cheque into her account today which was in my name and was refused. I was told that it is not allowed and hasn't been for a long time. The teller proceeded to tell me that it was once allowed to sign a cheque over to the person so they could bank it but not anymore.
I have been putting my cheques into other peoples accounts since I left school (many moons past) and this is the first I have heard of this.
The above bank was not our branch but later on in the day I went to the local branch and it was accepted no problems.
Could anyone clarify this anomaly???
