    bonfire night

theres some waste ground opposite me where an old school stood, well yesterday i could see a gang of kids/teens on there building a bonfire, they spent hours at it, half hour after they lit it 2 fire engines turned up to put it out, ffs they wasnt harming any 1 and there wasnt any chance of the fire spreading, some miserable coont must have reported it, my point is these kids/teens where making there own entertainment, like we used to do years ago, instead of roaming the streets causing trouble etc, our younger generation get lots of bad press now days, and when they do something to amuse them selves they get knocked back, so what will they think now, made me ever so mad

I remember building bonfire's at the end of my street when I was a kid. All the kids on the street contributed to it. The older ones went lookin for wood and the smaller ones (i.e. me) used to guard it against other kids comin to steal our wood. It was ace!

The irony of it is the kids more than likely spent a great deal of time planning it all out, at the end of the day they probably got the positioning of it more accurate than ian beale did in east enders , but the sad fact is we live in a pc world and half the time the kids cant do good for doing wrong

and yes i appreciate there's a load of bad kids out there but there's also a load of good kids and by the sound of your story gmb these kids weren't out to cause trouble, half the time all they need is a break and a lil understanding

My son and his mad mob managed to have the biggest fire in the area and know it was relatively safe.

It was i a patch of ground surrounded by houses and every year the fire is built there AND well supervised by adults on the night.

They actually started collecting wood in September...I can't remember starting that early...can you?

I pray for the day that Mrs Pumpy asks me to take her "up the drum".

Aye, i had the unfortunate experience of visiting it many years ago, at that time it didnt seem too bad.

                      Wanna rephrase that Lainie

                      THE TRUTH
                      The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.
