    i wouldn't recommend a website builder

however i would recomend such systems to you as joomula or drupal

drupal is a content management system and works by module plug ins

if you know photo shop and some simple druplal commands ifs also very easy to create customized templates
there are ready made templates but generally there crap and your better off making your own drupal is css based but you can create the psd in photoshop and covert the psd to css

but in order to use drupal you need a server to install it on and a domain name 1st

there is a cart module for drupal it is also compatible with aMember payment systems and more

Wordpress is a good platform, easy to use and loads of plugins to make your site unique.

There's a shopping cart plugin you can use called Wordpress e-Commerce.

Would definitely go for a CMS system, like Drupal or Joomla. You can try them out here PHP CMS Demos - opensourceCMS

Forgot to say you can try a CMS on your own machine, without a hosting package, by using Xamp apache friends - xampp.

For plain shopping software you should try osCommerce, Zen-Cart and Magento. osCommerce is a bit hard because you have to install tons of plugins to get it working and you have to manage depencies by yourself. Zen-Cart is a little bit more install-friendly. There is also a pimped version of osCommerce which is called oscMax.

Personally I recommend that you first try Magento then Zen-Cart and finally to get really frustrated install osCommerce.
