i know what you meen yea. but how long left is it before n3 hits? i dont think its fair that i have to pay 35 quid for what i get while a new customer will pay 18 and get 2 months free. it annoys me

I am debating on going over to sky, the only thing that puts me off is the broadband package, the 2 gb basic is limited, and it is either ?5 or ?10 extra rather than vms unlimited , but you get a better phone package.and more tv channels with sky
I have a friend that rings the once or twice a year and he gets all sorts of bargains, but I am a bit like you keep thinking they'll tell me to get lost, but the other half says he is going to have a go and see, if not we have sky to fall back on.

                      Virmin media

I have just signed up for vonage and am in the process of transferring my virgin media number to vonage. I will keep the broadband but loose the telephone line rental and call package. It has the added bonus that I can take my number anywhere in the world as long as there is broadband. My costs become ?5.99 a month instead of the ?20 that Virmin media charge me for the same facilities.

no virgin will phone you back at a later date and offer you a deal for definate

you need to give them 30 days notice regardless and then they will phone you up sometime in between

if they do not phone you ( it wont happen) you can ring them on day 29 and say you have changed your mind

you have nothing to lose basically

Business is business as they say gilbert, and recession or not, no company however big or small are going to tell you where to go. Just remember, vermin are competeing with sly and not with you,so put your cards on the table with them and see who blinks first. Best of luck. I`m about to tell 3 broadband where to stick their dongle in favour of eircom or bt/02 and I don`t blink easily.

I have posted a reply to this kind of thread before;all you need to do is ring 150 from your VM landline and go through the automated service until you get the "thinking of leaving?" message-get through to this section and tell them you're off to Sky unless they can do a deal for you and they are normally keen to help unlike Sky.Be firm but not too bolshy and it always helps to have an idea what you want before phoning. As an example I was one of the lucky ones to get the half price Sky offer but have kept all my VM products-phone,tv and broadband. My daughter wanted a V+ box which should have been ?75-got in touch with them and only paid ?49.If you don't ask you don't get and I have never been refused a deal when contacting them. They need you more than you need them in the present climate and the intro of N3.
