Belfast / Northern Ireland needs your vote to win chance of a lifetime
The global Bushmills Irish Whiskey? competition, Make it at Bushmills, has shortlisted local Tommy Walker, to represent Northern Ireland at Bushcamp, where nine country winners from around the world will compete for the ultimate prize - 30 days alongside Bushmills Master Distiller, Colum Egan. The winner of Make it at Bushmills will learn the secrets of making the multi-award-winning Irish whiskey and get the chance to be the first ever person outside of the distillery?s personnel to create their own blend of Bushmills Irish Whiskey.
Tommy, who is 40 and works as a Bus Driver at Knockbracken Health Care Park, entered the competition by submitting a written entry that got him short listed, he now needs your votes to win a place at Bushcamp and the chance to be crowned the global winner of Make it at Bushmills.
Since the competition launched on St Patrick?s Day, entries from the around the world have poured in via the Bushmills Facebook page, facebook.com/bushmills1608. Tommy from Belfast is one of the lucky tenshortlisted entrants from Northern Ireland that has been handpicked by a panel of Bushmills fans and whiskey experts to face the public vote in a chance to win a place at Bushcamp ? a once in a lifetime trip to Bushmills village on the stunning north coast of Ireland in August 2010.
There, Northern Ireland?s winner will join eight other country winners from around the world to face the 'Master's Challenge', set by Colum Egan himself. The Master?s Challenge will be the ultimate test of skill, allowing only the best to succeed as the winner of Make it at Bushmills.
? Tommy said: I have been on the tour three times, I always bring visitors to Bushmills for the tour, I drink Bushmills as it is the only Whiskey in the world worth drinking, the scotch and the Americans with their bourbon don't know how to do it right. I would like to be given the opportunity if chosen to work alongside obviously someone of great importance who knows a thing or two about Whiskey and to learn that Bushmills is not just a Whiskey but Life in a Bottle.
