The reason they wont give firmware is because of health & safety, Having to open a cover in the back of the TV

Phone them up ask them to pick up and return.

          a) why put usb on side then?
          b) adds to the excitement
          c) see if they can e-mail file to local tv repair shop

The usb port on this particular TV is only used as a service port(intended to be used only by a service engineer to perform upgrades to firmware or to diagnose faults( hense hidden under a cover)

Tosh's stance is phone up their customer service, explain the problem re new firmware. they will pick up, update and return free of charge.

If it's free then do it. Think of the enviroment when usb could be external update bingo done - assuming is a firmware fault
