There are two different types of 3D TV's and blu-ray players,

    Passive and Active,

So you will have to look at the spec of both products, or post the exact model number's here, and see if there the same spec (active or passive),
    hope it helps.

Passive is what sky use, it's more the old fashioned style glasses, two different coloured lenses, it's also called, Cinema 3D

Active, uses more modern technology, where the glasses need a power supply, and the lenses open and close at different times to allow different images into each eye

Passive is a much cheaper option. have a read of this,

They are both active 3D, so you should have no problems using together,
you will have to shell out a lot more money for the glasses though,
            Passive glasses cost ?1
            Active glasses cost around ?80

BTW, the blu-ray player is a nice piece of kit, more than just a blu-ray, it looks like an all round media player.

I saw this on another forum about samsung 3D glasses, on how to get them working.

The input stream must be hooked up to the HDMI 3 input on the television.
The input resolution must be set to 1920x1080 (1280x720 does not work, at least for me, or any other).
A 3D infrared emitter must be hooked up to the dedicated port on the television.
The television (through the menu system) must be set to output 3D mode, every time.
Check the battery is + side up (if applicable)
hold power button on glasses down till red led light flashes 3 times,
and finally, and I know this sounds stupid, but some people are reporting it works,
                wear your glasses upside down

                hope you get it sorted.

thanks tshirtman for the info, When you spend that much money you want them to work with out all the hassel!! I did try a few things you said but wearing the glasses upside down is a no no.. They are not the most comfortable glasses anyway, So LG glasses are on the way, Thanks again for the info they did sort of work but were no where near the same quality as the LG ones!! The 3D is very good with both Samsung 3d blu ray and lg tv would recomend!!
