    water mark on table

    hi all
i thought i would share a bit of a tip with you that i learnt today regarding white cup marks on your furniture.
i woke this morning after having the family around yesterday only to find a big white cup watermark on my prize oak table after trying to remove it with some polish and a 2 hour sulk i thought i would get on the net and see if it could be removed, after reading about putting toothpaste or mayonaise on it overnight i read a solution using your iron and a teatowel.
so i thought i'd try it and it actually works!
all you do is get a white teatowel lay it over the white ring turn the iron onto medium to hot heat and iron over the stain checking from time to time, mine took around a minute to completly vanish. fantastic.

I can imagine what the shirt must have been like if it burned the table.

I'd say that short of sanding down the table would be the only solution chalky.
