Boxing or UFC?

Which do you prefer? Is UFC/MMA in the ascendency and will soon dominate the world of fighting like boxing used too?

you cant compare them in the same light
its like comparing football to rugby
or NFL to the NBA
you have to appreciate them in different ways you cant put them in the same bracket

I still think the question is valid. For instance Football is the worlds favourite out of Football and Rugby (both played with a football)

In the world of fighting boxing has been the worlds favourite for many years, with the rise of MMA/UFC is boxings grip as the worlds favourite fighting sport in danger of slipping down into 2nd place.

Me personally I do like a good boxing match, but with so much corruption and shite fights out there I have definately swayed over to the UFC as it seems more gritty and genuine.

but it depends where you are rugby is bigger in some places than football but overall yes football is 1 of the world leaders
MMA and cage fighting has been around many years its just that ufc has managed to main stream it its taken them 20 years to do so

ufc still has more than its fair share of poor fights and 15mins of rolling around on the floor

im a huge boxing and ufc fan i Havant missed a ufc event or boxing ppv in many years also

but i can assure you for instance a sh*t fight like haye v Harrison will have 20x probably alot more uk viewers than ufc have ever had in this country and the boxing is on ppv and ufc is free here

yes the times are weird for the uk , but ufc still has miles to go before it even come close to boxing's popularity

boxing is fought and aired in every country , ufc is only available in certain regions and country's around the world

I hear what you are saying, but with sold out events in the uk for the last 2 years I do believe it wont be long before it is the number one fighting sport over here.

As for the world, it wont take long. Once Western and Eastern cultures buy in the rest of the world normally follows

Yeah,, I love boxing and MMA, they are 2 totally different sports and have to be enjoyed separately and cannot really be compared.

I like them for different things as well, and I would find it hard to prefer one over the other. i.e. Lesnar v Randy Coture over watching Haye v Harrisons, but I would prefer to watch the likes of Ben v Eubanks type of fight over GSP v BJ Penn.

Toney is a middleweight who has gotten fatter as his career progressed........now in his mid 40s it's hardly a fair comparison! UFC has a certain raw animal appeal but the sweet science for me always

call me old fashioned but i cant stand seeing two grown men roll around on the floor cuddling each other round after round

i find UFC very dull and boxing a much better sport i would howver be interested in some fighters in their prime pacman for example fighting the top ufc fighter of the same weight

to fix boxing make number 1 fight number 2 , then number 1 fight the new number 2 ect

they hold different belts managed by different boxing comities

if that fighter doesnt want to fight for that belt it is not a problem and cannot be forced to fight for a belt they do not want

they are very different worlds and sports the rules are not the same!

Vitalii is the WBC Champion.

Haye is the WBA World Heavyweight Champion

as you can see each one hold a different comities Heavy Weight belt
so can not be forced to fight another comities belt

im very clear mate , I used to box , all the dirrernt feds is what is killing boxing.

boxing is not a sport for the reasons you mention , hope my views clear to you now.

as for ufc cage figthing e.c.t there a good few feds all of whom make the fighters fight who there told and make the best fight the best
theres pride , strikforce,boomobm , many mma comps
