Hi my PS3 slim (2 years old) has recently started freezing on some games and when playing DVD's. The console will start the games and play for a minute or so before freezing. It always seems to freeze at around the same point in the game's however I have other games which seem to work fine and do not freeze. I have also tested dvd playback which also caused it to freeze. When the system does freeze the picture remains on screen but the system becomes unresponsive and needs to be powered off. I have tested the games on a friends PS3 and they all work fine. I have also tried replacing the hdmi cable, using the standard component cables, formatting the hard disk and rebuilding the database all which have unfortunately not fixed the problem.
