Xbox power light on only

I have fixed Xbox 360 RROD for a friend's and it was working perfectly after one day he bring the box back saying that only lasted for 1hour.
I have done exactly the same thing but this time I switched on the light keep go in a circle and stop's doesn't show 1, 2 or three light nothing except the power light on and I can hear the fan noise going higher and higher.(is not singing by the way) any suggestion your help is appreciated.

Have you tried to see whether you can get any secondary code information? Hold the sync up switch in and press the eject button. see llama.com/xbox360

I appreciate your fast reply I have managed to get it going again but I don't have a game to try it, any Idea if I down load one of the games would it work? or there is a risk to be band by Microsoft. Thank you Pal.
