trouble wirh linux

hi ,could anyone tell me how to get connected to tinternet,my daughter has an mini laptop hp with a suse linux system,im afraid im a bit f.i.k. when it comes to pc,s my own one is an hp g7000 which is connected through a peak router which i have had no trouble with.any help would be greatly appreciated,thanks in advance
