    nas

hi i have a computer in the loft with 4 harddrives in it and sort of use it as a media center that xboxs, a apple tv and a boxee box link to. i was wondering what the difference a nas server would be ? was thinking of getting one but dont really know if it would be an advantage ?
just wondered if people could tell me what the difference would be and if it would be worth it ?
    thanks

if it does what you want why change.
there are advantages with a nas box they are smaller than a pc and also no moniter or keyboard, mouse are required as it is accessed from any pc etc that is on your network.

      Nas better than pc

Usedto run the same setup as yourself and bought myself a buffalo link station. No need to keep the computer on all the time and can successfully stream movies to three devices at the same time. Portable hdd plugs straight in as USB and bit torrent set to download at night within the bit torrent client on the router.
Better by far and a lot less power consumption
