    Cisco RV180

I bought one of these in order to use the VPN feature. It comes packages with a CISCO VPN client that installs on your PC.

However, that does not work because the software uses ports 443 or 60443 and the router is listening on port 1723 for PPTP traffic.

The Microsoft client that comes with Windows XP works fine
and otherwise the setup on the router is trivial.

    Are they stupid?

This is from the manual to your model router, they call it opening up HTTPs, but if you read the VPN section of manual, it refers to that as opening up port 443 for listening. Hope it helps.
