mifi problem recognising 3g dongle

hi all not posted for a while but need your help.

in trying to create a mifi network using these

problem is when I attach the e3131 dongle into the top usb port the e3131 lights up blue as it should to say connected to 3g network but the mifi device 2g/3g light doesn't light up and there is no internet connection available to connect to?

anyone help please
