    2 modems 1 line

A bit curious is it possible for 2 modems with different mc address to work on one split line (they would be 1 @ 10 meg and other 20meg vm broadband)
and would they still work at the said speeds?? thanx.

actually you can connect a number of cable modems on the same line as long as the mac adress is from another area

          2 modems 1 line

          hi

I've got a virgin cable line and a splitter, one goes to a hub downstairs and the other one upstairs. Since i've got poor signal upstairs i thought i 'd connect my old modem and the router upstairs. I did it but didnt work...

Can you help me sort it out?

          thanks

1 would shut the other one down, as they both on the same ip address, you would need a different modem with someone else`s mac address , in a different area.

Not much of this goes on these days, as with faster modems you can share across your network a much more worthy bandwidth.

Ive not heard much about hacked modems for ages, and i bet they are like rocky horse sh1te, even on here its Taboo as altering Virgins Equipment is not allowed to be discussed
