    vista problem

    hi guys not great with computers but here goes
    my lap top kept going into startup repair i tried to restore to an earlier date but no joy ,it just kept going into startup repair.
    eventualy i tried to restore factory settings now when i restart it goes into boot magager and says windows files are missing or corrupt stupidly i didnt make any backupdisks this is my first computer and didnt realise the importance. learning as i go i guess

    if you have a vista installation disc you could refer to the following link to help you out or you could do a clean install but you will lose any saved files.

      failing that, with the vista DVD, put it in the drive, reboot and boot from the DVD, you'll have an option to do a startup repair, try that.

        sounds like a reinstal or a restore from a backup would work well here.
