    pc startup problems slooooow

    hi guys

just wondering if any1 can help me out here

since day 1 my pc has bin a tad slow booting up

now before i put a new hard drive in and do a fresh install id like to see if some of you tech guys can help me in anyway.

i will enclose my ntbllog.txt file so u can see what drivers are failing to load etc

i think this is the main problem that drivers are hanging and slowing the load up process down a bit.

my pc spec is as follows

    Krypton Z68 650i Intel Core i7 2700K 3.50Ghz @ 4.60Ghz

    Asus P8Z68-V PRO Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

    Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX)

    nvidia 295gtx

main hard drive is a WD 300gb velociraptor 7200rpm

thanks for any help with any tweaks you guys come up with.

ive tried the usual noGUI options etc
and stopped things running at startup
but i think its deffo in teh drivers starting during boot up time and the windows logo on screen.

    thanks

    dave

what power is the psu? has it enough power to power the board?

For what it's worth the only thing i can think off is to make sure your hard drive isnt running in PIO mode. This can make your PC crawl. Failing that make sure all your drivers are up to date.

Also, while it's in my head have you tried booting in safe mode? Does it run any quicker. Finally, might be worth running check disk from command prompt in case you have corrupted files.

Thats allot of drivers to load and would be slowing it down.

have you used msconfig to remove unwanted apps from boot?

Another thing to consider is specs of hdd? WOuld it be worth looking into SSD to increase overall speeds?

Never come accros any Velociraptor drives before so other than usual things to try

Make a error scan with hdtune check for bad sector and reading speed if 100< Very Good , 80> normal-Slow 70> Bad Change.
