Vista Connection Problem- some sites only

Hi there,
Ive been running Vista for a couple of months now with no problems, for the last couple of weeks, there are certain websites that will not connect, I get a 'DNS Error'. I'm on VM cable, and most sites load no problem. I know it's not the particular websites, as one of them is 'Windows Update' also my internet banking get's the same message!

Any ideas to solve this would be greatly appreciated

you might need to clear dns

go to run type cmd.exe

then type ipconfig/ flushdns

Thanx Reapers, but I've already tried that, i've trawled google , and that was one of the options it gave me, but didn't resolve the problem. I've also 'lost' all my 'restore points'. Checked for spyware, viruses all coming back 'clean'. This appears to be a common problem with Vista, but with no obvious solution!
