    Windows 10 pro x64

both cpu and gfx are watercooled

now if i try play a video file which is x264 it plays perfectly
BUT if i throw a x265 at it i get green blocky screen
    jittery playback

its naff is what it is
im sure it can play but just dont know whats missing

    i installed CCCP codecs

not sure what to do now
im sure its just a codec somewhere thats pissing about

    any help here greatly appreciated

    thanks

    Try the latest builds of

    Vlc
    Kodi

Both should play the files native and no other codecs required.

Are they 4k by any chance?

You could try forcing Vlc to render the video via your gfx card also.

Where are you watching them from? A ssd? Hdd or over network/ Internet

Try installing k-lite mega codec pack. Google for it. Never had any problems with it and using its media player classic.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but ive just had exact same issue and it was resolved by installing codecs on thier own, seems VLC does not like 4k playback as was choppy and sound was poor
