Do you have any other devices using the router?

After playing around I think the problem is my router, not my computer. A couple of weeks ago my computer lost Internet connection and thought I narrowed it down to a dodgy Ethernet cable. Then I got the symptoms again the past dew days and as my HTPC didn't loose the connection I thought it was my computer. Was messing around on my iPhone and couldn't get a wifi signal until I rebooted the router. So I think I need a new router. Do you Lott agree..?

The yellow symbol usually stands for bad handshake, so even if you have cable connection the system is not able to require the IP address by DHCP, what you can try is to check the router settings, and give him a restart afterward.

you can change the utp cable ton another port, also in LAN properties have a look and post here what protocols you see

This morning went to local pc shop and bought a pci LAN card and installed it. It worked with the card so I tried the LAN port on my motherboard again and it works fine now. Any thoughts..?

Still running fine, just found the router that i got from my service provider for free. It's a. D-Link. I'll give that a go if things go bad again...
