    system restore

    hi chaps i have a hp laptop it had vista installed but i installed windows 7 i still have the backup on the hardrive from the original vista but cant seem to load it any suggestions

    go in bios change the boot sequence to other partion or hd which has new 7 loaded, or try one of th f keys during boot up for options that way, hope this helps m8

      did you format the hd then install 7 or do an upgrade from vista to 7.
      is the backup recovery software on a separate partition on the hd.
      what o/s is on the laptop at the moment.

        upgraded to windows 7
        in my computer there is a hp recovery partition
        when i clickit nothing is there

          if you upgraded you cannot downgrade back to vista, if the backup as you call it is recovery software then that is to repair an existing vista o/s.
          if you want to reinstall vista then you must first format the hd then do a clean reinstall from a vista installation disc.

            hello you can recover your system i using cd install and boot for cd and press repar
