In this case you shuold trie to change the silicon under the heatsink. Also you should consider replace the cooler on the heatsink, or change the whole heatsink.

Just to make sure this is your program, I would suggest installing this program:

CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

Its free, and it monitors your temps of everything in your computer. Just let it run in the background and see what the MAX gets up to. This will let us know for sure that it is running too hot, but it sounds like your problem.

+1 for the suggestion on the Artic Silver!

53 degrees in iddle is good, try to run a game for a half an hour, alt+tab and see after that the temperature.
Not normal is 90-110 degrees for example.

PS: did you update youre video card driver to the latest?

53 degrees is just fine at no load ... Like the other poster suggested, play a video game for 30 minutes and check what the max temp got up to.

We also need to know what version drivers you have installed.

I forgot to mention, that there is one thing you should check. Probably, youre power supply is also pretty weak. Trie to change the power supply, maybe this is youre source of youre problems, too.

You're power supply looks pretty good. One more thing you can do. Take out you're video card and go to one of you're friends and try in an another PC. See if you receive the same error. Also, observe the temperatures.
