    .mkv problem

    Hye

I have a problem with .mkv file. After I finished download the file and play it for the first time, it didn't show any problem at all. The Problem happen when I try to move the file or delete it. My Cpu Usage suddenly increase from 5% to 100%. Is there a problem with my PC? what am I suppose to do? I like to keep the file anyway. I didn't have a problem about deleting it but if I keep the file, my CPU usage is 100% even how many times i restart my PC. My only choice for now is to delete the file. if you guys know other choices... please help me

What CPU & how much RAM do you have?

What program is running that causes your CPU to be at 100%? You should be able to tell in Task Manager...

Do you have any programs that are maybe trying to scan it for virus/malware? I'm sure the file is around 2+ GB, which is very large, so this could be the reason....

We really need to know what program is running at 100% to solve the problem.

My ram is only 2G. Explorer.exe is the only one that turn up high. Other program run as usual. If I want to delete the file, I need to end explorer.exe process and delete the file using command prompt. My problem now is, I want to know what is wrong with my PC? When it come to moving the file or normal delete (right click + delete), explorer.exe increase to 99. I have no problem playing, moving or normal delete other video format.

OK, I'm guessing the file is corrupt & Windows is trying to process it in the background. We need to delete the file. A couple ways to try:

          1) Boot to safe mode, try to delete it (Might not work...)
          2) Boot to DOS if you know how, and delete it from the command prompt
          3) Try to rename the file to another extension -- try .TXT, and then delete it.
          4) Try to run the CMD function from the RUN menu, manually go to the location, & delete the file.

If you aren't sure how to do these things, give me the exact path & file name and I can detail out the directions.
