Wireless mouse stuttering on my PC only

    Hi,
My wireless usb Logitech mouse has started to stutter or barely works sometimes. It works on my IBM T43 laptop no problem even at great distances (other side of room). My PC has had issues with its usb before (usb 1.0 connection speeds!) but I did a software/driver update using driver checker an it seamed to sort it out though whenever I plug my usb memory stick in the remove hardware icon doesn't come up in the task bar.

I ran spy bot S&D and for a day the mouse was fine. I then ran avast in its highest settings in boot mode and no difference. can anyone helps?!?!?!? Its really annoying especially as I want to play Medal of Honour or Call of Duty!

I'm running XP pro. (free copy from uni)
    2.6 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core 5000
    3.25 GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT (overclocked)
    M2A-VM ASUS motherboard

Can you change the wireless channel on the mouse as it may be interference with another device?

    have a read here

    Code:
    http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Mice-and-Pointers/ct-p/mice_trackballs
    re the usb memory stick

    try this

open up my computer, find the device

right click on the device go to properties

click on hardware, find your device name, click on properties.

click on policies/ tick optimize for performance.click Ok

that should put the icon back next to your clock

Couldn't find any help on the Logitech site, maybe I looked in the wrong place? I don't know.
I downloaded the Logitech software to change the mouse settings and I re-synced the mouse but am still having problems.
I tried the steps to reactivate the icon in the task bar but I cant find the policies bit. I right-clicked on the mouse and then the usb mass storage device and there were no policies bits.
