Go to your new French providers website, they usually have a facility to send the required settings OTA (over the air) but if no OTA facility, they should outline the procedure in their support section...

Have you called your operator on their customer care number and asked them to send them to you? Many newer handsets do not have manual entry to WAP/MMS settings!

        What operator are you with?

I will try what you say but im not confident i will get a result. The other prob is language of course im not bad but this might be a little difficult. I am now with leclerc mob as that is the only pay as you ive been able to find that you dont lose your credit at the end of each month

I've just looked at their website and (with my very basic school boy French) it looks like they are not the biggest network in town! I'm guessing that they are a VNO like Virgin Mobile are in the UK.

Sadly, the Nokia 2220s isn't made by Nokia! It comes from Foxconn in China, even the main board inside the device is branded Foxconn!! Quite good quality but none the less, not Nokia. I do have the (very basic) user guide if it's of any use I'll upload it...

your right they are not the biggest provider in town but as i said you dont lose your credit at the end of each month and coverage is normally fine. If you could upload user manual perhaps it might help. Thanks in advance

finally got phone sorted. Had to go back to the shop and be assertive and eventually after just over 2 hours someone done what needed to be done.

                        Good news!

It must be an uphill struggle trying to get things like this resolved in France if your French isn't good! Here the first language is Afrikaans but 99% of people have English as their second language and although they may mix their tenses and plurals, communication is quite OK!
