    have an el cheapo nokia 2730 that is locked to meteor Ireland and want to switch to the new operator 48months

      This is almost certainly BB5 based and SL3 and thus you'll have to pay for a code. Try E-Bay...

          Lower end nokias usually still use either dct4 or bb5 protection.

          I'm not set up to do either via imei.

          Take your pick on ebay.
