    Micro SD for Nuvi 1410.

    Evening,
can anyone tell me the correct Micro SD card for my Garmin Nuvi 1410? I need to know the biggest capacity that will work without compromising speed. I want to install the latest Europe maps which is a shade under 4gb. All help appreciated.
    Craig, Nottingham.

I'd recommend using only Sandisk or Transend microSD. The 'unbranded' ones can lead to issues including data loss!!

Thanks for the replies; Garmin have replied and they recommend a maximum of 16gb. I won't be putting one in, will put maximum 8gb to keep the speed of the unit top notch. If anyone has any suggestions as to where I can obtain my software from I would be most grateful. I have a few places in mind (some off DK) and elsewhere. I just want the most reliable source if you get my drift.
        Best wishes, Craig, Nottingham.

Right, I've downloaded the latest Europe maps as unlocked img. file and created my Garmin folder in the SD card. I dragged and dropped the downloaded files into the Garmin folder and then popped it into my sat nav. The question I have is how do I know if this has been sucessful ? When I connect the device to my laptop I can see both the pre-installed software and the SD card contents. Can I access the SD card from the unit itself or does the SD card when installed override the installed software ? I would really appreciate some help.
                Best wishes, Craig, Nottingham.
