Tomtom live 1000 problems

Guys I've been having a nightmare with my Tomtom live 1000 for the past 2 weeks.
The gps is playing up big time and saying searching for a valid gps signal.Even when it locks onto a valid signal it is all over the place. The device has the very latest maps and firmware from Tomtom on it.
If I do a complete reset it seems to work ok for about a day then it goes haywire again. Any suggestions anyone.

I had same problem with tomtom start waiting for signal. They were at fault as it was a new firmware release that fixed it.
