Germany?s second-largest cable operator Unitymedia is to make considerable enhancements to its HD line-up.
From 5 October, customers signing up for the pay-TV packages Digital TV Highlights or Digital TV Allstars will be able to receive up to 10 of the new channels in HD for an additional monthly fee of ?5.
The Liberty Global-owned company will then offer a total of 15 HD channels with further additions to follow. To receive its new offering, Unitymedia will provide customers with an HD set-top-box which will soon be transformed into a digital video recorder through an automatic software upgrade.
The new HD channels on-board Digital TV Highlights will include Syfy HD, TNT Serie HD and TNT Film HD , National Geographic Channel HD and Fox HD.
Subscribers of complete package Digital TV Allstars will additionally get from 5 October the HD channels Sport1+ HD, MTVN HD, Classica HD, BonGusto HD and Deluxe Lounge HD.
