sky plus remote

hi all i've got trouble with my sky plus remote about two weeks ago the remote started to work intermittently so i changed the batteries still the same so i bought a new remote put new batteries in but its still the same the funny thing is it works perfect from about 3 feet away its doing my head in anyone got any solution to this cheers.

make sure nothing is blocking the sky box window (and its clean)
